Further training and ...
Specializations
(Christian Kalkbrenner)
In order to be able to treat patients as efficiently as possible, it is important to undergo continuous further training.
Auf diese Form der Wissenserweiterung legen wir besonderen Wert.
In the following sections, you will find an overview of the training and specializations of our employees.
Pain therapy for chronic pain
This therapy is used for chronic pain patients, among others.
The focus is on the systematic assessment of findings and the resulting therapy planning, which is individually tailored to the patient.
During planning, various therapy methods are brought together in a coherent overall concept.
Die Pain therapy is based on the Hockenholz level modelVarious human structures are examined in a deliberately coordinated sequence (the local, fascial, vegetative, segmental and visceral levels). With this holistic approach, pain symptoms are examined from different perspectives. Traditional Chinese medicine and the psycho-emotional level complement the examination and treatment. This system can be expanded with individual levels, i.e. with methods from other training and further education programs. The level model does not exclude any therapeutic procedures; on the contrary, it allows the integration of experience, knowledge and approaches from the broad spectrum of the healing professions.

Hand therapy
Hand therapy is a specialization of occupational therapy in which the therapist has comprehensive theoretical knowledge and the necessary practical skills to be able to adequately and competently treat any illnesses and injuries in the hand area, including the entire musculoskeletal system.
This makes the hand therapist a direct link between the hand surgeon and all professional groups involved in hand therapy and hand rehabilitation.
Cognitive-therapeutic exercise according to Perfetti
Das Konzept der „Kognitiv therapeutischen Übungen“ wurde von Prof. Carlo Perfetti (Italien) für Patienten mit neurologischen Erkrankungen entwickelt.
The aim of the therapy is to reorganize the nervous system, which is in a pathological state following damage.
The regeneration of the system first takes place in the brain and ultimately leads to a change in the area of muscle contraction.
The patient should learn strategies through the cognitive-therapeutic exercises that allow him to act as normally as possible and to perform the best possible physiological movements again.
This form of treatment is now used very successfully for neurological, orthopaedic and surgical patients as well as for CP children (infantile cerebral palsy).
Neurodynamische Mobilisation
The nervous system is an immeasurably complex unit. The entire body is interwoven with a network of nerves.
Like all tissues, this network must be movable or at least elastic and flexible.
If increased tension occurs in the area of the nervous system, e.g. after injuries (e.g. stroke, traumatic brain injury, paraplegia, pressure syndromes) or if the mobility of the nervous system is reduced due to other causes (e.g. slipped disc, carpal tunnel syndrome), this usually results in pain and further movement restrictions.
Through targeted therapeutic techniques and the development of an individualized
self-exercise program, the mobility of the nervous system can be restored or improved, thereby eliminating or alleviating the pain symptoms.
Mirror therapy for patients with a limb affected on one side
Mirror therapy is a therapy method for patients with a limb affected on one side, e.g. after a stroke or with pain syndrome. The principle of mirror therapy is to position a mirror in the middle of the body so that the reflection of the unaffected limb appears as if it were the affected limb. Mirror therapy has been gaining in importance for several years and is one of the evidence-based therapy methods after stroke.
Manual therapy
Hand functions and the associated functional chains of the upper extremity are of central importance for occupational therapy. MT offers the possibility of detecting reversible functional disorders and restoring balance using appropriate manual therapy techniques.
Kinesiology taping (flex taping)
The application of tape promotes blood circulation, influences the drainage of lymph and regulates muscle tone.

Vestibular therapy
Vestibular therapy can be used for patients with severe balance disorders or severe dizziness. This should first be diagnosed by a doctor before this therapy can be started.
In this therapy, depending on the type of dizziness, the individual problems are recorded and targeted exercises are used to try to reduce the dizziness as far as possible.
